Because of its wonderful remote location in the beautiful Southern San Juan Mountains, the studio provides a highly unique and inspirational environment both inside and outside its walls. Distinct and dramatic Colorado seasons bring an awareness of the natural environment and sharpen ones awareness of the smallest details of daily life. The abundance of wildlife, wide spaces and deep solitude create a resonance between the natural world and ones own inner landscape.

Belvedere has a strong commitment to protect and preserve the natural environment and follows strict guidelines to ensure that all its activities are “clean and green.” All materials are recycled and any waste water carrying pigments or other potentially harmful materials is evaporated in such a fashion that the remaining materials can be reclaimed for reuse.
